Shiraz is a variety that carries great significance in the Barossa Valley and as caretakers for some of the oldest surviving Shiraz vines in the world (dating back to 1847), we take immense pride in crafting this wine. Our highly acclaimed Shiraz has received numerous awards since its first vintage in 1990. However it’s the versatility of this wine, in the way it embraces both power and elegance that we are most proud of. Approachable in its youth or cellar for 15+ years.
The 2018 Turkey Flat Shiraz is tightly coiled. A wine of great finesse, the power and longevity of this wine will only be revealed with time, be that open for a day on your kitchen bench or a decade in your cellar. With time boysenberry, blackberry, violet, earth, clove toast and cedarwood will all be revealed to expose a wine of tension, restraint and underlying power.

“38% new French oak, 15% whole bunches. Ground coffee, ripe plum/redcurrant and blackberry flavours sweep confidently through the palate, chicory and sweet earth characters carried along for the ride. It’s not flashy or necessarily seductive, but it’s the most impeccable Barossa shiraz you could ever hope to find. It will mature beautifully”
Campbell Mattinson, Halliday Wine Companion 2020
